What is Junk my Car?
Junk my Car is a car buying service that will make an offer for your car, tow it away, and pay you promptly. We currently purchase vehicles nationwide in the United States.

What types of vehicles do you purchase?
Junk my Car buys passenger vehicles of just about any condition (cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, etc). At this time we do not buy or tow motorcycles, RVs, boats, or other types of vehicles.

How do I get an offer to sell my car?
Simple! You can use our online form to get an instant offer.

Do I have to pay a service fee to Junk my Car?
No, we do not charge a service fee. There are no fees at all. You simply get an offer and if you accept it you will be paid that amount.

How quickly will Junk my Car remove my car?
A towing company will be in touch with you within 24 hours once you accept your offer. Once contacted, you will be able to arrange a date and time to have your vehicle picked up. In many cases, this can be done the same day!

Can you remove vehicles that are abandoned on my property?
At this time we are not able to remove or make offers on abandoned vehicles.

Do you buy cars, even if they are damaged or missing parts?
In almost every case, we can make an offer on your vehicle. This does vary depending on the towing company in your area and their ability to remove cars with missing parts, such as tires, engines and transmissions, etc. Just request an offer to see what we can do for you. If we can’t pay you for your vehicle, we may be able to remove it for free.

Do I need to be present when the car is removed?
In most cases, you will not need to be at your vehicle when it is removed. You should be able to leave all required documents inside the vehicle. The towing company can then tow the vehicle without you being present. Generally, the only time you would need to be with the vehicle is if the vehicle is in a gated community, in the garage, or depending on your selected payment method.

Do I need a title in order to sell my car?
Not in most cases. We are able to remove vehicles without titles throughout the US.

I have the title to the car, but the car is in a different location. Can you still remove it?
Yes. We are able to remove vehicles in many types of situations, including when a title is in a different location than the vehicle.

If you can pickup vehicles without a title, why do you need mine?
Picking up your vehicle with a title can increase your offer as well as speed up the transfer of vehicle ownership out of your name.

I've obtained a title for my vehicle, now how do I get a better offer?
All you need to do is repeat the offer process, answering the same condition questions as before, only now click 'yes' in response to "Do you have the Title?".

Can you remove cars off the highway?
In most cases, we can remove a vehicle off of highways and interstates.

What happens to vehicles you remove?
Where your vehicle will go differs from state to state. Your vehicle will be recycled and in most cases, it is crushed for the scrap metal.

How does Junk my Car make money?
The salvage market in general makes money through recycling vehicles. Junk my Car is no different; once you accept an offer, it is then sent to a towing company and the car is recycled.

What ensures me that I will get payment for my vehicle?
You will receive an email from JMC with your offer amount once you accept it. In most cases our towing company can pay you at the time of pickup. You can also contact us anytime to inquire on the status of your payment.

When will I receive payment?
In most cases, payment can be offered on the spot. In other cases, payment is sent via check or Paypal on average 10 days after the vehicle is picked up. This time allows us to confirm the vehicle documentation and condition.

Will someone need to come appraise my vehicle in person or do I need to bring it in for inspection?
Nope. No waiting for an appraiser to meet you and no sitting in a waiting room while your car is being inspected. How easy is that?!

Who handles my vehicles final paperwork?
All the paperwork is handled at the holding facility that picks up your vehicle, and will be processed in accordance to the state laws. Be sure you return your licence plates and cancel your registration if required by your state.

Do I need to go to DMV during this process?
In most cases no; however, if we are unable to process your vehicle due to your state's laws requiring specific documentation, a form may need to be acquired from DMV.

How do I check on the status of my removal?
You can log into JMC on the Check Status page using your Claim ID and Zipcode.

Will I receive a receipt once the vehicle has been removed?
When your assigned towing company contacts you to schedule junk car removal, you may request a junk receipt to be given to you at the time of removal or shortly after.

Will I be able to get parts from the cars that you remove?
We do not sell or supply parts. If you are looking for parts for your car, you can use a part locator service such as GetUsedParts.com.

Do you sell or supply your cars to fund raisers or other events?
At this time we only buy cars. We do not sell or supply vehicles or parts.

Can you remove junk other than vehicles?
We can only remove vehicles at this time. There is a pay service that will remove other junk items from old furniture and appliances to yard waste and renovation debris. To schedule junk removal other than vehicles, please contact 1-800-GOT-JUNK.

We only make offers on automobiles.
